Today was another beautiful day!

I worked while everyone hung out, swam, and played more Legos.

The pool was nice and heated.

We really wanted to spend some time in Seattle since we were so close, so when I got off work we took off for a night in the city.

More docks! These really are fascinating to watch.

Downtown Seattle

Of course, we couldn't avoid doing the most iconic tourist trap in town.

The Space Needle!

But the only reason we did the Space Needle is because the Chihuly Garden and Glass exhibit is next door. This is what we really wanted to see. We purchased 8:00pm tickets to the Space Needle and walked over to the Chihuly exhibit.

Tickets for seven of us were not cheap, but very worth it. His glass artwork is just...wow.

Floor to ceiling glass sculpture. (All I could think was: OMG Who dusts that?!)

Glass ceiling. This room glowed with color!

This was a very long "under the sea" piece.

Boats filled with blown glass pieces.

A better view of the boat on the right.

A panoramic picture of several pieces.

In the dark areas of the exhibit, it was hard to include people in pictures.

The glass house.

Grace loved the purple garden. (Grace's hair is courtesy of Grandma Colleen.)

Wild and crazy!

It was time to find dinner after we finished at the exhibit, so we walked down to Pike Place Market.

We all went out on a limb and guessed that this must be the very first Starbucks. The line to buy a coffee here was very long. No thanks.

The sun shining through the clouds was quite spectacular. My iPhone camera did not do it justice.

We enjoyed dinner at a restaurant near the market and worked out way back to the Space Needle.

We arrived at the top just in time to see this... Perfect! (Again, my camera did none of this justice. The Canon did a much better job.)

You can actually see Mt Rainier to the right of the downtown skyline. That mountain is so tall compared to anything around it!

We had a great night in Seattle. A little touristy perhaps, but a fun time with family.
