It was a hot travel day from South Carolina to Florida, but everything went well. The gas stations were large, the rest stops were clean, and the bread was fresh for our travel day lunch meat sandwiches. :)

I’ve always believed things happen for a reason. Pulling into the rest stop we missed the turn off for trucks so we ended up parking amongst the cars. Thankfully there was plenty of room on the back side for us to parallel park. A young man saw us pull in and walked up to Matt to ask if he could give him a jump. We travel with a tiny jump pack that is surprisingly strong enough to jump even our truck. So Matt grabbed it and walked over and got him going. Right place at the right time.

This was the heat rolling off the truck while parked in the shade at a gas station. The real temperature was 91.  Matt left the truck running while filling up with diesel (considered safe as diesel is not combustible like gasoline), and this guy filling up at the gas station would not stop giving Matt the stink eye. So much so that he wasn’t paying attention when he pulled the nozzle out of his car and spilled gas all over his shoes and car. Perhaps we all need to focus on our own tasks.

We became fans of Buc-ee’s when we traveled to Texas last year. Our fandom is not as serious as some who own Buc-ee’s tshirts, lawn chairs, and sheet sets…yup that’s a thing. Nor do we do all of our Christmas shopping there. But we do appreciate the space to maneuver the camper, that every pump has diesel, and the bathrooms are super clean!

This new Buc-ee’s in Daytona Beach was no exception.

We arrived at our campground with time to swim, do five loads of laundry, and order pizza. Mom wasn’t feeling well, so she chilled in the camper.

The splash from the belly flop can be seen in the cover photo of this post.

It was a great pool, but it was heated, which made that water refreshing but oddly warm.

Grace found a pretty flower.

Sooo…these pizzas said they were nine square 12 inch pizzas, so I offered two. We definitely only needed one. We put the second in the fridge. It was yummy!

Universal Studios tomorrow!
